We have just culminated our intense week of rehearsals with Mafalda and think we can all say that we are amazed with what was created so quickly. It has been fascinating to see how many ideas have been developed and pieced together, and the result is a high impact and multi-layered work. Although it has been a both mentally and physically challenging week (I've never seen such colourful knees!), there is a real sense of group achievement and Mafalda's no-nonsense rehearsal ethic has been great experience for company life. I can't wait to rehearse the piece again and perform it with the addition of costume, lighting and animation.
Sum of Parts is a compelling new work from Sadler’s Wells’ Creative Learning department, Connect. It brings together the distinctive work of the artist Betsy Dadd, the choreographic talents of Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Companies, including Hofesh Shechter Company, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Kate Prince’s ZooNation, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Russell Maliphant Company, Wayne McGregor | Random Dance and a cast of 150.
