What a day to start! We started at 10:00 with a quick technique class to get warmed up and blasted right into things. The movement material we’ve been developing so far has been very physical; we are throwing ourselves into the air from the floor, dropping down to floor again, manipulating each other into very awkward positions, and yelling at the top of our lungs. We ended the day with an interesting creative task. Mafalda simply told us to impress her, which was very daunting. Only a few of us were able to show something which ranged from singing really quickly to flips to Irish stepdance to a ballet variation. She has asked to consider what we might do for tomorrow so everyone is racking their brain to show her something interesting. She also asked for us to bring hairdryers and for the girls to bring flowy dresses. It will be interesting to see where we will go from here.
