Diary Entry - Day 4, Vocational Student, London Contemporary Dance School, Bridget Lappin, Thursday 14th April 2011

Today was all about cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. We were working on primarily one section to ensure that we were all doing the same thing at the same time, which ended up being a very gruelling process.  Similar to yesterday, we found ourselves repeating ourselves several times, but today usually only with the same movement. It got very tiring, however once we finally managed to acknowledge all of the bugs and work them out, the piece felt stronger. We are also starting to develop our group mentality throughout this process as that is what will help make the piece look cleaner and stronger. We still have a lot of work to do, but there were a couple of times today where we really felt like one entity performing. Another highlight of the day was that we were able to dance in a bigger studio (finally) which allowed us to really experience the movement fully. It also provided us with a perspective of what dancing on the stage will be like, which is a rather exciting prospect.
